What objects teach us about migration

Wien Museum

1040 Vienna, Karlsplatz 8

Grades 1-6

Migration is part of Vienna’s history and has significantly shaped the city and its society. Without migration, today’s Vienna would have no St. Stephen’s Cathedral, no Ringstraße, and no Wiener Schnitzel. So what do the objects in the museum tell us about people and migration?

We help the pupils as they get these objects to speak. We work in small groups, researching the stories connected to the objects, finding out more about people and about their feelings and everyday lives. And we jointly create a diverse image of the city and its society!
