Let’s protect the environment! People have been changing the landscape for their own ends for thousands of years. Rivers are straightened, green spaces concreted over, and transport routes constructed. We can also see nature being squeezed in Vienna! But what do we think about this today? And what does the sustainable city of the future look like?
Children explore historical landscape paintings in order to discover where the Danube used to flow and how the building boom transformed the cityscape. They make their own glasses in order to take on the role of conservationists, climate experts, or urban planners and develop strategies for treating nature with more care.
