At the end of the 19th century, Vienna was the largest construction site in Europe. Small alleys gave way to boulevards, while trains and trams carried ever larger groups of newly arrived migrants.

Join us as we explore the history of Vienna's expansion into a bustling metropolis. What was important to urban planners and residents as Vienna grew? Who benefited and who suffered from these changes? What remains of this moment? And how does it continue to influence the Vienna of today?
