The Titan in the observatory

Beethoven Pasqualatihaus

1010 Vienna, Mölker Bastei 8

Grades 1–6

The apartment on the fourth floor of the Pasqualatihaus, in which Vienna’s first observatory is said to have been located, was rented by Beethoven on a number of occasions. It was here that he wrote some of the symphonies and piano sonatas that were long considered unplayable. This is why Beethoven later received the nickname “Titan”.
