Schubert Sterbewohnung

Schubert Sterbewohnung

1040 Vienna, Kettenbrückengasse 6

The great composer Franz Schubert spent his entire life in his native city of Vienna. He was born in a town house in the 9th district – known today as Schubert Geburtshaus – and died in the apartment of his brother Ferdinand at the young age of 30.

The site has always been a place of pilgrimage for Schubert‘s admirers. On view are the composer’s last musical sketches, historical documents related to his death, as well as his final letter.
