Images from the Wien Museum
The Wien Museum has an extensive Online Collection that you can use for research purposes. The images can — if legally possible — be downloaded for free. The online collection is constantly being expanded.
Even for objects that are not yet available in our Online Collection, we will gladly provide you with printable digital images of our objects.
Please send inquiries to fotobestellung@wienmuseum.at.
Please provide as much detail as possible about the objects you are interested in (ideally with inventory numbers or illustrations) and include information about the planned use (private use or publication).
We will try to process your request as soon as possible. Nevertheless, processing may take several weeks, especially if research or new photos are required. Therefore, please contact us ahead of time.
Prices
For the provision of digital images, we charge a fee that covers the museum's expenses. If no image of an object exists yet, we will be happy to take one. Information about the expected costs can be found in our price list. We ask for your understanding that in individual cases photographs may not be possible for conservation. For more extensive research, research fees may also be incurred. We would be happy to inform you about the expected costs.
Photography and Filming
You are welcome to take photos and film at our exhibitions and locations for private purposes — to protect our objects, please avoid using flash, tripods or selfie sticks.
In individual cases, we may have to restrict photography for individual objects or entire exhibitions due to legal or conservation reasons. We ask for your understanding.
Information on filming can be found here.
