Wien Museum
Grades 1-6
In the Middle Ages, the social order was clearly regulated. In the museum, we only find portrayals of powerful rulers. But who don’t we see and how can we find out about all the inhabitants of the city?
As an introduction, the pupils take an imaginary walk through the city, gather impressions of medieval Vienna, and find out more about people’s day-to-day lives. Then, starting with these portrayals of the powerful, we ask ourselves who doesn’t appear in the exhibition. We search for clues that point us towards the city’s invisible inhabitants. And we finish by becoming creative and giving some of these people a face.
