The exhibit area of the museum can be reached via elevator, also accessible with a wheel chair. That said, the elevator is not at the main entrance but around the corner at Rathausstraße 14 (where there's no curb).

Hermesvilla

Access for People with Disabilities:
Due to a technical defect, the Hermes Villa is currently not wheelchair accessible. We kindly ask for your understanding.
The Hermesvilla is located within the Lainzer Tiergarten, a protected area of natural beauty. (Biosphere Park Wienerwald www.bpww.at) For this reason, entering and so accessing by car the Hermesvilla is not permissible; even cycling is prohibited in the Lainzer Tiergarten.

A wheelchair-accessible toilet can be found at the restaurant
Exhibition areas:
The ground floor (currently no exhibition) can easily be accessed by wheelchair. For persons with impaired mobility, a wheelchair is on hand for use, and seating is available. Unimpaired access to the exhibition areas on the 1st floor cannot be guaranteed due to the lack of a lift.
Restaurant/Shop:
Both the restaurant and the shop area are accessible with the aid of the platform lift.

Access for People with Disabilities:
The main entrance to the Museum requires no use of stairs or steps.
Parking facilities:
Directly beside the Museum there is no parking for disabled persons; however, the following streets nearby offer parking space: Bauernmarkt 9, Salvatorgasse 7.
Bathroom:
A wheelchair-accessible toilet can be found on the ground floor.
Exhibition areas:
The ground floor exhibition space is only partially accessible, with the rear area only reachable via 8 steps. The excavations below street level and the exhibition on the 1st floor are accessed via stairs or with our stair-climbing chair. The use of the chair comes with some limitations, so we recommend contacting us before your visit. Our staff will be able to assist you.
A wheelchair can be borrowed for your visit.
The Römermuseum also features hands-on and tactile objects suitable for blind and partially-sighted visitors.
Shop:
The shopping area at the entrance is easily accessible.
Guided tours on offer:
There is a multimedia guide for the deaf and hard of hearing in sign language.
Guided tours through the permanent exhibition for the blind and partially-sighted are available on request.

Access for People with Disabilities:
The Chapel of St. Virgil is accessible for people with disabilities via the the city’s subway system (“Wiener Linien”) elevators. To reach the admissions counter and the gift shop, take the elevators at the Stephansplatz/Haas-Haus entrance to the first level of the subway station. Please purchase your ticket at the admissions counter and inform the staff member working there that you would like to use the entrance for people with disabilities. To reach the Chapel of St. Virgil’s entrance for people with disabilities, take the elevator to the “U3 Richtung Simmering” level. The exhibition area and the chapel are both free of stairs and wheelchair-accessible.

Parking:
Several parking spaces for people with disabilities are available in the area surrounding Stephansplatz, such as those in front of Singerstraße 7 and Singerstraße 12-16, and those in front of Spiegelgasse 3-11.
