Born in Salzburg in 1964; studied archaeology and art history in Salzburg and Vienna, doctorate 2003; 1991–1997 research assistant at the Österreichisches Archäologisches Institut (Austrian Archaeological Institute, OeAI); 1997–2002 research assistant at the Urban Archaeological Department of the City of Vienna; 2002–2003 self-employed archaeologist. Team member in several research projects.

Curator at Wien Museum since 2004, curatorial responsibilities: archaeology and urban life before 1500, branch locations: Roman Museum, St. Virgil’s Chapel, Neidhart Ballroom, archaeological excavations at Michaelerplatz, Roman vestiges at Am Hof.

Main research interests: settlement topography and urban development in the Vienna region with a special focus on the period between the Roman settlement and the early modern era, commodities supply to the Roman settlements, infrastructure development, transport and trade, material culture of the Roman era, archaeometry, research and collection history.
