Grades 1–6
2,000-year-old bones, bricks, and leftover food tell us some fascinating stories about the lives of the Romans. But who unearthed these objects and brought them to the museum? And how do we know so much about them?
During the program, the pupils immerse themselves in the fascinating world of archaeology. They look at tools, examine places where things have been found, and get to know some working methods. And then they slip into the role of an archeologist themselves.
The finds in the Römermuseum are waiting to be investigated – with all the senses and with the intuition of a detective. The pupils collect notes and observations in their own site notebooks. We ask questions together and discuss possible answers. And, in doing so, the children learn the key principles of scientific work in a playful manner.
