School program

All children have rights. Including you!

Wien Museum

1040 Vienna, Karlsplatz 8

Grades 1-6

Children are diverse and unique. And every child has the same rights. Such as the rights to self-determination, recreation, education, culture, and non-violent surroundings. This wasn’t always the case. Images in the exhibition show how our view of children has changed during the course of history. Since when have children been seen as people with their own rights who are worthy of protection? What used to be unfair? What is still unfair today – or has improved?

In this program, pupils get to know their rights. They think about what is good for them and experience themselves as strong and responsible individuals. Physical exercises support their empowerment.
