Born in Klagenfurt, Austria in 1976. Studies in history and applied cultural studies/cultural management in Graz and Edinburgh, doctorate in 2005. Research assistant for the special research field “Modernism – Vienna and Central Europe around 1900” at the University of Graz 2000–2005. 2003/2004 Junior Fellow at the Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften (International Research Center for Cultural Studies, IFK) in Vienna. Freelance collaboration with radio station Ö1 since 2006. Project team member in the research project “Vienna’s Hofburg Palace since 1918 – from imperial residence to museum quarter” of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) 2007–2008.
Curator at Wien Museum since 2008, curatorial responsibilities: images and stereotypical representations of Vienna before 1918, history of consumer culture and companies pre-1918 (cafés and pubs, department stores, markets, hotels, merchandise, advertising), sports pre-1918.
Main research interests: urban and cultural history in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, history and identity politics, urban social movements, public space.
